This area works on two health problems of the population, cardiovascular and endocrine diseases, which could be summarized as heterogenic and polygenic diseases. Projects covered include nutrition, intermediary metabolism and endocrinology and clinical objectives are obesity, diabetes and arteriosclerosis. In addition to the topics described, this area also covers other important conditions such as digestive and respiratory diseases
